Art Director (WDC)

The Brand Guild is looking for an experienced Art Director to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have an innate sense of curiosity and drive, with a passion for beautiful design, results-driven campaigns and inspiring creativity among colleagues. He/She can conceive and execute visual solutions that tell compelling stories while focusing on impact and effectiveness. This is a client-facing role that will report to the VP of Creative.

JOB Responsibilities:

  • Lead and art direct the visual design for print, digital, video, social media and/or broadcast campaigns while collaborating with the PR, Marketing, Social Media and Events teams
  • Continue to raise the bar on quality of work by pushing concepts and visuals that will resonate with audiences and achieve client objectives
  • Lead brainstorms, facilitate creative critiques and share new ideas and inspiration with clients and teams to encourage continued creativity and growth
  • Own and drive processes for efficiency with design projects, continually accessing current state and always striving to improve
  • Stay up to date on best practices and trends in design and technology to ensure we maintain a competitive edge

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-6+ years of graphic design and/or art direction at a PR, advertising, marketing or similar communications agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
  • Experience working with consumer brands, hospitality and real estate industries a plus
  • Excellent written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and adept at managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously at a high standard in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in UX/UI design, proficiency a plus
  • Experience in motion design, proficiency a plus
